Single-medium filtration systems that use only Filter Sand often result in smaller particles settling at the top of the layer, a phenomenon referred to as "surface filtration." This limits the system's ability to remove turbidity and SS, as most of the filtration occurs at the surface.

To solve this problem,Anthracite Filter Media serves as filtration materials to remove turbidity and suspended solids (SS). Due to its lower specific gravity compared to Filter Sand, it often combined with Filter Sand in dual-media filtration systems. This combination creates reverse grain layers after backwashing. Moreover, the high carbon content of Anthracite Filter Media provides excellent resistance to various chemicals and high physical strength, making it widely used in both municipal and industrial water purification processes.
